The journalism school I attended assumed most graduates would end up at a small community newspaper where they would have to do a bit of everything, including photography. I didn’t excel at photography in J-School, although I did manage a solid B.
Photo journalism is very much about capturing people and drama, and my technology writing career took me down a path where I didn’t really need photography skills. However, having invested in the equipment, over time I’ve found myself wanting to capture places I travel and recently even started shooting photos of people. Below are photos of a busker in Toronto that fascinated me (she loved the photos), and my Flickr page includes photos from around Toronto and from a number of trips I’ve taken over the years.
